Cheers to a New Year!

Cheers to all of you for a Happy New Year!  Our glasses were filled with diet pepsi tonight but we enjoyed a cozy evening home together.  I used baja blue on this card with watercolor paper, baja blue seam binding and baja glass glitter.  I sprayed my papers with silver paint mixed with rubbing alcohol to give it some shimmer.  Oh, the stamp set is Cheers to You.
Next Friday watch for a Glitz Gals blog hop.  I'll be one of the stops and you'll have a chance to win blog candy at the end of the hop if you visit every stop.
I hope you all have a wonderful 2011!

Buttons, Buttons with Puns from the Past

I used the  largest clear block to use to create my own background stamp.  It is so much easier than stamping each stamp over and over and over.  I used blushing bride and pear pizazz.  I just got the puns from the past stamp set and combined it with buttons, buttons.
My mom quilts and I couldn't wait to make some cards that showcases one of her favorite hobbies.  I cased the card from Lyssa and I love her design.  It was so much fun pulling out different ribbons and crochet trim to play with.

Build a House by Stampin UP

A group of co-workers each decorated their own little house from Stampin UP and gave prizes at their holiday party.  Wasn't that a great idea?  I think they did a GREAT job!  This is just a small sampling of their fun designs.  Every single house was just darling.

You know you don't feel well when.....

You know you don't feel well when you are used to creating something almost every day and you haven't made anything in a week.  Hang in there with me peeps!  I'm sure my back muscles will be healed soon and I'll be back creating fun cards to share.  Until then my craft chair is a little lonely, the stamp pads might need to be dusted and I'm sure all the toys are lonely!  I know they need me.   :)  Have a great day!!

Happy 84th B'Day MOM!! We Heart YOU!!!

Mom's card just had to be pink.  There is no other pretty color in her mind!  I cased the card from Sabriena Satchwell's card she received from Rett at Stampin UP!  Thanks Rett for inspiring me.  The designer paper is Sending Love, retired from SU.  The ribbon is pretty in pink satin.  I used the Curly Cute stamp set and the trio flower punch with a few rhinestones.  I used SU border punches to create the lacy border.

Stampin' UP! Merry Decor Elements

I was going to rub the Merry Trees vinyl to my wall but a friend suggested putting it on glass so that I could reuse it every year.  I found an antique picture frame I hadn't been using and rubbed it onto the glass.  It combines a little modern with the old but I like it.  And you  know how I feel about my RED! It was such a quick fun project and would make a nice Christmas gift.

Cherry Cobbler Double Embossed

This is my friend, RaeDeen's card.  She cased it from a card on splitcoast.  She embossed it, covered the embossed area with versamark and then embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Isn't it so pretty with the chocolate chip ribbon and little snowflake charm?  Thanks for sharing RaeDeen!  She and I can talk cards for hours!!  LOL

Candy Cane Christmas

I love the Candy Cane Christmas paper and will be ordering more before the holiday mini catalog ends.  I received this card from a leadership demo swap.  Shawn Perez designed it and I don't think it could be any cuter.  Thanks Shawn!
Also, keep checking the Stampin UP website as there will be some kind of sale that will be starting next Monday.  I have no idea what it will involve but I know how much my stampers LUV sales!  I'm looking forward to it myself.

Button, Button with Simple Friendship

I combined a couple of challenges into this card.  I used poppy parade and tempting turquoise to make a card with a retro feel.  Friend is from the Simple Friendship set and the buttons will be in the Button, Button stamp set coming in the new mini for sale in January.  The buttons are really fun to add to cards without adding bulk.

Sneak Peek of New Button, Button SU set!

My brand spanking new Button, Button stamp set arrived today.  I inked it with pumpkin pie and used a strip of the sweet and sour specialty paper.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Curly Cute, a go-to set for lots of my latest cards.  I punched the birthday label with the sides of the round tab punch.  The Button, Button stamp set has 17 darling buttons and will be available to order in the next mini catalog.

Love you a Latte!!

I used the Pun Fun set to make this card with the Jolly Holiday designer paper.  Sometimes it is fun to just switch things up.  This is a tri-fold card with a mini library clip from Stampin UP.

Three Little Words

The background is stamped with the woodgrain background stamp.  Three little words is stamped with cajun craze on very vanilla.  The pumpkin pie ribbon gives the pop of color.  I really like the versatility of the Paisley Prints stamp set as it will take you through the seasons with a tree, pumpkin, leaf, and heart.  And three little words can say a lot!

Inspired by Nature sees Fall in Iowa

Our home is located on a hill overlooking our small town.  We can see over the top of the town and for miles and miles in the country.  The trees have turned colors so a glance out the window is all it takes to inspire me.  Cherry cobbler, olive green and very vanilla were used to make this card.  I used the markers on the inspired by nature stamp set by coloring the images directly on the stamp and giving them a huff.  Works every time.  This is also one of my swap cards.

PTT18 Carrot Cake Color Challenge

I had never done challenges before and I love how they make creating a card quick and easy.  Party Time Tuesdays, PTT18, came up with the color challenge and the only other requirement is that it has to have happy birthday on the card.  I just got the Curly Cute set from Stampin Up and inked it with pumpkin pie on peach parfait.  The back of the card is soft suede and the designer paper is the hostess level one incolor paper set.  The flower is the stampin up flower burst embosslit.  The bigshot embosses and cuts out the flower.  Super easy!

"Grammy, let's do crafts!"

The crafting will continue through the generations!  I was wondering if it would for awhile.  No one in my family wants to stamp or scrapbook with me except for my dear niece when she has time.  Finally, my little granddaughter will paint, glue, color, and have fun crafting.  So, I have hope.  I am already starting her box of supplies.  Don't you see a card maker in the future? We are going to have tons of fun together!  We already do.

Oldies but goodies!

Sometimes it is fun to pull out the old stamp sets that haven't seen ink for awhile. I love the bird from the Always stamp set.  He has been inked many different colors and Always looks good!  LOL  I think it is fun using stamp sets and making them fit the seasons.

Halloween Build a Bear from a Friend

I received this darling card from one of my stampers last year.  I liked it so much that I saved it with my Halloween decorations.  It was fun to pull out this year and display in my room.  Those bears are so much fun to dress up!  I love the girly bling on the card as that fits my friend, Lu.

Fav Pic, Fav Girl, and Fun with my Regional Goodies

We were given this idea at the stampin up regional I attended Saturday.  I put my twist on it and I might change the pic later to something better related to fall but hey, the colors worked!  I really enjoy how everything is matchy matchy with my stampin up supplies.  It makes it so easy to scrapbook and make cute cards with the scraps.  Plus, I haven't purchased a sticker for a couple of years!  The stamp set used is Day of Gratitude with old olive and cajun craze colors.

Pg 2 of Our Little Pumpkin!

This is the second page of a 2 page layout using a retired SU! scrapbook kit.  My only wish is to have even more available than they already do.  I'm all about quick, easy and super simple.  The clearance rack still has some pretty designer paper on sale until October 18th that I enjoy for both card making and scrapbooking. And now I'm missing my favorite little pumpkin!

How to Scrapbook in 2 minutes or less! aka Our Little Punkin!

I love Stampin UPs scapbook kits.  This is from a retired one I put together in a few minutes a couple of years ago.  I always enjoy the kits and I always purchase some new ones every year.  In fact, as busy as I've become I either use a kit or it doesn't get done.  Having everything match our stamp colors and card stock extends the use of the kits.  They are so easy to use. This is our granddaughter 2 years ago at age 2.  She is full of fun, energy and personality.  She's our little pumpkin.

Trendy Trees Male Card

I have a couple male birthdays coming up so I had fun designing birthday cards today without the usual girly bling.  My favorite brother loves fall in the midwest so this will remind him of home.  Oh... yeah... he is my only brother!  I wanted him to know how special he is to me so he'll be getting a birthday greeting from me soon.
Stamp sets: Trendy Trees and On Your Birthday
Cardstock: saffron, crumb cake, retired autumn dp
Ink: Saffron and Choc chip
Embellishments: twine and a brown brad

Extreme Skateboard, Extreme Elements, Extremely Great Nephew!

This card was just too fun to create.  I purchased Extreme Skateboard just for my nephew who loves to skateboard.  I broke out the extreme elements stamp set to design a card for him.  He is a greatly appreciative teen and I can't wait to mail it to him.  He is an awesome kid.
Ink & Cardstock: pacific point, black and whisper white
BigShot Top Note Die, turned and cut twice
This is a challenge for Party Time Tuesday

Super quick, super easy, perfect punches

These cards are super quick and easy.  Sometimes I don't have the time to spend making a detailed card so these fit the bill.  The white is embossed with the new northern flurry embossing folder. I punched out the Joy from the scalloped Joy stamp and added a new glimmer brad on each card. The top card uses the new poppy parade and the bottom card is made with marina mist.
Cardstock: whisper white, poppy parade, marina mist
Ink: poppy parade, marina mist
Tools: circle punch, northern flurry embossing folder
Embellishments: glimmer brads

Morning Cup PaperCutz Challenge #61

This is for PaperCutz Challenge #61 to use 3 patterned papers on your card.  The sweet coffee cup is from the stamp set Morning Cup from Stampin' UP!  The patterned papers are all from the Sending Love designer paper that is from the clearance rack SU sale going on right now.  I used the new clearlit scallop rectangle from page 211 in the new catalog.  It is so handy to stamp first and then be able to see exactly where you want to cut your image out.  I was drinking my favorite french vanilla coffee this morning when I saw the challenge which led me to the coffee cup image.

Stampin' Royalty Challenge #39

I used the Jolly Old Saint Nick SU! stamp set for the newest Stampin' Royalty challenge. I used the blush blossom marker with a blender pen to color his face.  Sending Love epoxy brads are on sale at the clearance rack from stampin up right now.  The front is adhered to crumb cake cardstock.  I used the ribbon punch, designer label punch and the oval punch.  I used the circle punch with always artichoke to make the epoxy brads stand out more.

Perfect Punch JOY with Embossing

I wanted to try the new poppy parade in-color.  This has the white embossed with the lattice folder, the poppy embossed with elegant lines and Joy is from perfect punches.  All of the stamps in the perfect punches stamp sets matches our punches so you know I love it!  I like the poppy parade even more than I thought I would.  It is really bright and cheery. The poppy color pops. This was cased from another great stamper.  Sadly, I can't find her name but I liked her card sooo much!

Halloween Treat Time with the BIG SHOT

The new bigshot tasteful trim die cuts felt like butter.  I cut a pillow box with the big shot and decorated it for a special Halloween treat and a matching card.  The pear glimmer brad accent is in the new Winter Mini catalog.  The stamp is from Batty For You.  I'm using retired Cast-A-Spell designer paper from SU. A special little three year old will find her favorite skittles in the pillow box and a card from Grammy.  This is for the suoc2 challenge to use the Big Shot.

Sweet Snow Globe with Medallion in Cherry Cobbler

The sweet snow globe center fits nicely in the center of the medallion background stamp.  The sentiment is from many merry messages.  I'm a red gal and cherry cobbler is still the best!

Fall Blessings

I decorated our home for fall yesterday.  I put tiny orange lights on a pencil tree thinking our granddaughter would like it but it needed some decorations.  I thought I'd emboss small die cut leaves to hang on it but instead I put them on a card!  The tree still isn't decorated.  LOL  The colors are more mustard, cherry cobbler, old olive and cajun craze.  I embossed the leaves with the vintage wallpaper stampin up embossing folder.  The inside circle is from the set circle circus.  The sentiment is from grateful greetings.  The leaves are mounted on vanilla, espresso and cajun craze.  I got the idea from a stamped founder's day make and take card.  I think I'll wait for my granddaughter to visit.  She likes to decorate at age 3  and it is endearing to see everything hung in one spot which of course will be down low and at her eye level.

Sweet Snowglobe used with Just Believe

I love the new concord crush with melon mambo together.  I combined the sweet snowglobe with Just Believe.   I love showing how to make stamp sets versatile and in this case I changed a Christmas stamp to an all purpose stamp by changing the middle.  It is difficult to see but the concord has a large stamp with concord ink on it.  It looks much prettier in real life! I got the idea of using Just Believe in the snowglobe from splitcoast.  What would we do without casing?

French Foliage mounted on Espresso and Peach Parfait

I sponged vanilla with daffodil delight, cherrycobbler and cajun craze ink. I stamped using the same colors plus espresso.   I cut apart the strip and mounted it on espresso mounted on peach parfait cardstock.  I think it is such a versatile card for fall.  I've already made one into a birthday card and another is for a sympathy card.  I like leaving some cards blank so when I need one I can quickly personalize it for the right occasion.

Butterfly Prints go Cajun!

I love the stamp set Butterfly Prints.  In fact I love just about anything that has a matching punch.  The giant ric-rac is from the new Big Shot die called Tasteful Trim from the Winter mini on sale now.  I used cajun craze, groovy guava and really rust so you could see the difference in colors.  The card background is also groovy guava.  I really like using the new cajun craze.  It has more brown in it and looks great with lots of colors.  The middle of the butterflies are just espresso dots.

You Mean the World to Me!

My friend from South Carolina will know I was thinking of her when she gets this card. I cut up old maps to make cards sometimes which makes it easy to personalize them.  The arrows were cut with the Big Shot sizzlit called curves ahead.  The designer paper is tangerine tango and the blue is pacific point.  Another quick and easy card.

Sweet Centers and Sweet Treat Cups

Skittles fills the sweet treat cup on this card I made last Halloween for my Granddaughter.  I made the card using the SU scallop square die.  I think everyone loves getting cards with sweet treat cups.  I was tickled SU! carried them over to the new catalog.

No ORANGE for MY Momma!!

My mother is all about PINK!  She has a pink kitchen, a pink bathroom, pink flowers outside, pink, pink, and more pink!  She hates orange!  So, I had to make her a special Halloween card.  She doesn't have internet so she can't peek at this. But I assure you that when she opens this envelope in Oct she'll burst out laughing!  And it will have a place of honor.

Owl with new Scallop Die from the upcoming mini

Longfellow with new Trimtastic Trims available Sept.

I love it when my daughter calls and asks for a special card for me to create.  In this case a friend helped out by giving their new dachsund puppy a dog kennel.  So, I went to work and made a thank you from Willow, the puppy.  Crystal effects is on the heart and handmade brads.  Longellow is part of a level one hostess set.  Both chococlate chip strips are part of the new XL die called Trimtastic which is exclusive to SU.  I think the top part is a scrap but hey, it worked!

Owl with new sneak peaks!

  1. Bigz Scallop Squares Duo
  2. Bix XL Die Tasteful Trim
  3. Glimmer brad
I love the cute owl punch and he is so fun to dress to match your cards.  The designer paper is from the brights designer paper pack.  The tasteful trim bigz die is going to be used often.  It can make wide ric-rac, zig-zag designs and is long so I can use it with scrapbooking too.  It make 4 trims and could be my new favorite bigshot toy.

Batty for you with new sneak peak Glimmer Brad

Pear Pizzaz with Razzleberry is used on this Batty for You card.  The glimmer brads will be available in the next mini.  I used the 1 3/8 inch circle punch, top note die, vintage wallpaper embossing folder and it all went together quickly.  Easy peasy!  That is my kind of card.

Medallion Inspiration RAK

My picture doesn't do justice to this card.  The medallion background stamp is embossed on top of a french script background stamp. Vintage looking cards are all the rage right now and this fits the bill perfectly. RaeDeen let me borrow it so that I can case it.   I love the colors, the texture and I don't know how it could be any better.  Thanks for sharing!

Just Believe

I broke out the new Stampin' UP! set Just Believe last night to make a birthday card for a friend. This is one of those versatile go-to sets.  I got to give her the card tonight and then see her newly organized stamping space.  I love it!  This card  uses regal rose, daffodil delight and the new pear pizazz.  The ribbon is the new narrow striped stampin up ribbon.  And the tiny butterflies are from my very favorite embosslit.  I cased this card with permission from Patty known as LaLatty on splitcoast.  Thanks, Patty!  Just a flip of the card and a little different size, circles instead of squares but you get the picture!  I love Patty's ribbons tied on her border.

RAK from a stampin friend

I received a RAK (random act of kindness) from a stampin friend a couple of weeks ago. The colors she used just pop off the page. I love color and this card inspires me.
Thanks, RaeDeen!

Andrew sledding

I'm off on a road trip with my DH so I'll post an old page I designed with MDS by Stampin' UP!  I just got to spend some time with one of my nephews who I greatly enjoy. That made me remember this page I had stored that features him.  If you are hot maybe this will cool you off!
